Wheel Of Fortune Supports Disadvantaged Single Parents With Children

Everybody likes Wheel Of Fortune. There is Hollywood’s glitz and glamour. There are two beloved TV personalities: Pat Sajak and Vanna White. (Ladies: which one of us isn’t interested what’s Vanna wearing tonight?…) The game is intellectually stimulating. The contestants’ emotions allow us to feel as if we were a part of the excitement. Wheel Of Fortune is a blast! Over the years, it has become also a television staple and an integral part of our lives.

As most of you know Enlightened Helping Hand Foundation is preparing for our annual fundraiser and Silent Auction. The goal is to raise money for the many poor, unemployed and underemployed single parents with children.
Before the event, we sent MANY donation requests to major business organizations. (As anyone who’s ever solicited donations will tell you, only a small percentage of donation requests are actually replied to and even less are dignified by a donation.) In spite of the tough economy, a few donors came through in support of disadvantaged single parents with children. Many were gracious; some were generous. THE ONE that blew us away with its heart and generosity this year is Wheel of Fortune! Who knew that behind a television game show there’s so much heart!

We were hoping for an autographed picture or two, but received so much more! The stars of Wheel of Fortune are not wax figures on a pedestal expecting worship; the whole team of Wheel of Fortune consists of real people with generous hearts! Thank you Wheel of Fortune; thank you Vanna White; thank you Pat Sajak! Thanks to YOU many struggling single parents and underprivileged children will be warm, safe and fed this Holiday Season….

As those of you who follow Enlightened Helping Hand Foundation’s blog surely know, EHHF – and its members / beneficiaries! – have been desperate for a refrigerator for quite a while now.
Enlightened Helping Hand Foundation has approached many major companies and retailers with requests for a donation of a refrigerator within the last 4 months. Our requests have been ignored by many.

Meanwhile, Enlightened Helping Hand Foundation’s Shop EHHF Pantry program, which helps stretch struggling single parents’ grocery budgets, is expanding and attracts more and more recipients each month. EHHF is very thankful for the support of donors who contribute food to our pantry. However a large portion of the food donations we’re receiving consists of fresh, perishable foods. It is great because they’re healthy for young families and growing children. Unfortunately, in California, without the ability to refrigerate food, a lot of well-meaning fresh food donations were going to waste; that’s why obtaining a refrigerator donation was of utmost importance to us.

Today, I’m delighted to announce that thanks to the generosity and compassion of Kimo’s Appliances, Enlightened Helping Hand Foundation has a refrigerator, at last!!!
There won’t be any more wasted food! There’ll be MORE nutritious food available to disadvantaged single parent families and children!

Thanks to the support of Kimo’s Appliances, EHHF will be able to reach more single mother families in need and help put more food on more tables!
It’s a rerigerator, but it’s also a milestone in our growth: Enlightened Helping Hand Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Kimo’s Appliances. You didn’t help some faceless organization but poor single mothers and hungry children to fill their need for nutritious food.
